They’ve been working hard since Gandalf and Mr. Baggins set their feet toward the Shire.
“It would have been wiser to say so comes fireweed after fire,” Balin snorted. “Look!”
He scarce needed to say it. Here and there, splashes of color dotted the shore of the lake, as the pioneer plants crowded in, making the burn scars from the dragon’s wrath less grim. Some might feel the cheerful things out of place, but Balin liked them.
“A good sign,” Dwalin agreed.
