Celebrian's Rage

from Anna IdleLeaves's prompt: courage, slow, joy, sea

It takes courage to leave all you’ve ever known. It takes strength to break your bonds of friendship. It takes love to leave your loved ones,  your children behind. Celebrían knows this, but all she feels is rage.

This rage slowly builds and builds and builds until it reaches its zenith, radiant and pure. She breaks, bitter tears cast uselessly into the sea. Salt water joins salt water, a tribute to Ulmo and Nienna both. How can there be song, or joy, or wisdom, or endurance in this act of self-destructive healing, when all she wants is to go home?
