Tolkien Meta Week Starts December 8!
Join us December 8-14, here and on Tumblr, as we share our thoughts, musings, rants, and headcanons about all aspects of Tolkien's world.
Loosely all the fics featuring or staring Fingolfin, Gil-galad, or Gil-galad's mother, Meril. Geographical focus on Hithlum and northeastern Beleriand. Also will be the Hadorian counterpart to the Bëorian collection.
Hador and his relationships with Fingolfin, Gildis and others.
enter the dragon (helm of Dor-lómin).
Fingon returns to Barad Eithel with a wild wood elf. Gildis meets him.
Gundor, youngest child of Hador Lórindo, grows up and falls in love.
Hador and Gildis have their first row.
Hador begs the forgiveness of Gildis.
Even on the night of his wedding, Hador turns to Fingolfin.
Fingolfin, chosen to stand at the side of Hador, whom he loves, reflects on the wedding after the feast.
Hador writes in his journal before his wedding.
Not the wedding speeches.
Hador Lórindol travels with his father Hathol to the home of Gildis to meet her parents.
Fingolfin sends Hador away before Nargothrond lest he fall in love with Finrod.
(Assumes that Finrod loves Glorfindel. See 'Eithel Ivrin' if you like, though it’s not necessary)
Crossing the plain of East Beleriand, they meet some wood-elves.
They leave the House of Angrod and cross Ard-galen, where they are met by Aegnor, and Fingolfin meets Rochallor for the first time.
Hador realises he is Mortal and turns to Gildis.
Part two of 'Children of Ilúvatar'.
The expedition of Fingolfin crosses the plain to the Halls of Angrod.
Fingolfin meets Hador Lórindol, and Gildis.
"All his life, he would remember that moment: the silver bells of Hithlum greeting the rising sun, and then, as if in answer to the bells, voices raised in song, the voices of the Eldar, impossibly clear, impossibly beautiful. "
In which Hador Lórindol comes to Hithlum, swears fealty to Fingolfin, and follows his lord to the end. And doesn't regret a thing. (Well, maybe that one embarrassing misunderstanding about the Feanorians....)
