For the Tengwar prompt challenge.
All 36 prompts plus bonus chapter
Eöl is ill-at-ease after an encounter with the first Elf to elude his piercing mind. That there is much to link him and Curufin, including their shared craft, a friendship with the Dwarves, and the fact he carries a knife made of Eöl's metal, only unsettles - and allures - him all the more.
Telchar emerges in some of Tolkien's early writings but remains elusive, despite his status as a great Dwarven smith. However, some of what is known about his character is revealed in his creations.
Aredhel runs into trouble after leaving Gondolin. Luckily, she is prepared. The Walking Dead fusion/zombie AU.
The forest of Nan Elmoth is warded by magic and, apparently, inhabited. Celegorm and Curufin head into the woods, discovering who exactly lives in it. A "dark elf", who is a blacksmith. And is friends of the dwarves, and speaks Khuzdul. Curufin camps outside of the forest, to check that trade with the dwarves isn't disrupted by the encounter -- and to see if perhaps he could learn more about the enchantments that protect this land, and about its dweller.
Gimli is not the first dwarf to admire an elven lady--or a cave!
The great Dwarvish smith Telchar makes the knife Angrist for Curufin, and Curufin contemplates the new weapon. (Alliterative verse.)
So, Curufin, son of Feanor, is conveniently walking around with a dwarf-made knife at his waist that just happens to be suitable for cutting a Silmaril out of Morgoth's iron crown and he just happens to give Beren enough provocation to rob him of his possessions, including the knife.
Here is a slightly AU gapfiller on the subject of the early history of Angrist, the knife that would cleave iron as if it were green wood.
Aredhel runs into trouble after leaving Gondolin. Luckily, she is prepared. The Walking Dead fusion/zombie AU.
Very short pieces set in Beleriand or Valinor, some of which are slightly experimental.
Now added: Shadowy Cloak (Beren and Luthien, after the fall of Tol-in-Gaurhoth)
The story of a mighty weapon and heirloom, spanning the younger ages of the world.
Thanks to JDE for the thorough beta work and for nudging me to post a story for the first time!
