Fanwork Notes

Fair warning: not a lot of planning went into this fic.  I decided to write the fun way, and dove in head first.  This is largely character-based rather than plotted, and I am prone to both experimentation and canon-abuse (the latter due mostly to my long absence from this fandom, but I shall endeavor to avoid it!)

Thank you very much to betas two_point and noldoparma, who both did an excellent job catching all of my mixed metaphors, bad phrasing and typos.  This wouldn't be readable without you!

Wow, I liked this! You weave his memories very nicely into the main story; I like how it opens with a very strong sense of the past, which is then largely commanded by awareness (and attempt to discover) the present, and finally, the past returns heavily once more. This was managed commendably well. I look forward to reading more and hope you will continue posting it here.

And, belatedly, welcome to SWG as well! :)

Thank you very much!  I am glad that the technique I used for the memories is something people like.  It had been fun to write, but I wasn't totally confident it would work for anyone other than me.  I actually debated posting it here, since it's already on livejournal.

Thank you very much!  I have been lurking the SWG livejournal community for a while, but I onlyl just realized there was a website, too.

Oh my goodness, this was such a magnifcent read. The memory or flashes, the way he tries to surpress them. It makes for a intense build up and then he knows. Poor guy. I am now curious how he will deal further with it and how the fact that Ecthelion died as an equal hero and... Is there more?

There is more, just not on paper yet.  I'm working on the next chapter already; I just have to figure out some of the logistics of what I want to do and how I want to present it.  Hopefully it will be up relatively quickly!  I agree with you about "poor Glorfindel."  That really isn't a very nice way to find out, is it?
