Again, Ingwë and Vanyar are based off ideas outlined in this post - Klingon Promotions Among the Vanyar - and used as the basis for my stories about the Vanyar and set in Cuiviénen. That the Vanyar were a hunter/warrior culture before coming to Aman, when under the influence of the Valar and peace of their surroundings their culture shifts towards non-violent philosophy and contemplation, becoming the farmers and monks of Valinor, with most competition redirected towards athletics and poetry. Still, after Eärendil's plea (and Elwing's) the Vanyar en masse decide to join the Army of the Valar - and defeat Melkor in under fifty years.

Summary:
On the eve of the War of Wrath, Ingwion asks his father to be the one to lead the Vanyar in battle. Afterwards his family dinner highlights a hidden motive in his eagerness to journey to Beleriand.
