A great interpretation of this prompt! (Not least of all because it made me think of Beren and Lúthien as well. ;)) I love so much of the imagery here - Lúthien's refusal to week and wail, the glimmer of distant starlight in Mandos' eyes, Beren carrying Dior on his shoulders, Lúthien laying the Nauglamír aside. And the poetic repetition at the end of each segment. Very well done!
