Finduilas as Gil-galad is not an idea I've entertained before, but what with Gil-galad's unclear background, it might even work! You certainly make it work. I like the humanity you're bringing to both Gil-galad and Elrond here, in spite of their obvious courage, and you managed to make even the downer ending hopeful. Great job!
