OOOHHhhhhhhh this was amazing!!!  You really packed some story into this!  That sense of resignation to fate, not necessarily wanting it but knowing the outcome.  Even justifying it - the quotas, of course they won't bother when they'll all be punished.  But then that end!!  Both sides working together... it warms my heart 🥺🥰

Ooh, I really liked the tension of that terrifying situation and the happy ending. The Orc is resigned to his fate, but he won’t forget that he was helped out, and that they did it even at the risk of not fulfilling their quotas. Well done!

....they're all slaves. 

A lovely story of a pragmatic orc buried under a mine collapse, losing hope, and then being rescued by elves and orcs working together. Kindness wins. At least for now.
