Maglor lives alone on the Isle of Himling. Someone visits the island, not knowing it’s inhabited. What happens?

During the Third Age, Maglor returns to Himling, the island which was the top of Himring Hill in the First Age.

His contemplations are interrupted by unexpected visitors.

Oh! This is another that's stayed with me, the image of Maglor mooching about on Himling, gathering mementos, and then abandoning them at the very last. (Maybe because I too am a magpie for old and broken, rough and worn "treasures".) So lovely to revisit this, and finally leave a comment!

ETA that the idiot thinking that he can't just rock up on Elrond's doorstep now, with or without a collection of excuses just makes me want to shake him! But there, again, I empathise; it's hard when you've got so much emotional turmoil inside.
