Paying the Price
Paying the Price
Looking across the quay towards his assailant, he noticed two things: the sword raised against him and a young woman attempting to pull the Noldo away from him.
He suddenly recognized the man as Curufinwë, his cousin’s husband, and the woman as their daughter. But what was his cousin-by-marriage doing here in Alqualondë?
Glancing around, he saw that many of the swan ships were being overtaken. Intending to speak to the man whom he had entertained at his table, he lowered his boat hook and approached. As the sword swept towards his body, he watched its deadly dance with disbelief.
