That first scene is very vivid and ominous in itself. The connection with the following is surprising but makes sense.
The main bit, the description of the aftermath of Beleg's death from Gwindor's view is very well done, with the details of Gwindor having to cope with his wound, with Turin and with decision-making all at the same time. Gwindor's courage and empathy come across clearly.
