Of Sauron and the Lesser Rings by Anlashaq

Fanwork Notes

It was in Eregion that the counsels of Sauron were most gladly received. For in that land the Noldor desired ever to increase the skill and subtlety of their works, therefore they hearkened to Sauron, and they learned of him many things for his knowledge was great. And they took thought, and they made Rings of Power. But Sauron guided their labours and he was aware of all that they did; for his desire was to set a bond on the Elves and to bring them under his vigilance.

Your language is very poetic and sophisticated and has the "Silmarillion feel" to it without sounding ridiculous, which is hard to do! I look forward to the continuation of this piece, as the time about which you write is so intensely interesting.

And no worries ... the story looks perfect. :) Do let me know if you have any trouble figuring out how to use the site, but it looks like you got posting a story just fine!

Take care,
Dawn

Hi Anlashaq,

And thank you for writing a piece that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I particularly like the part where Sauron realises he will not forge the One Ring without a greater fire. Very nicely done!

I also love your language, very much in the spirit of your intent to be true to the original. Congratulations on a job well done.

I'm glad it's unfinished, because I look forward to reading more...
