I had read this story or possibly an earlier version of it before, I think. Was it on your website?

It features an impressive Maedhros and a very interesting Celebrimbor; there are not only the obviously conflicts of emotion, which are strongly delineated, but one seems to sense even deeper undercurrents...

Thank you, yes it did used to be on my website (which I can't get into at the moment)

I do find Celebrimbor's attitude to the rest of his family fascinating to write, the fact thst in spite of everything he put the Star of Feanor on the Moira gate suggests he hadn't rejected them altogether in spite of everything

This is a wonderful story- so pregnant with maybes and wherefores. The sense of despair that ohvers about Maedhros in his final act is palpable in this but never actually becomes despair- instead it feels oddly hopeful. And I live the compex range of emotions that Celebrimbor feels. Great writing!
