Morwen, whose view of the world has been permanently darkened by past sufferings, is concerned for her children.
The rider loosed the arrow before Dior could call a warning, and so he did what he needed to without a second thought – he leapt from the bush where he’d been hiding, and yelled to startle the deer into motion.
The doe ran; the herd ran; the arrow sank into the ground behind Dior with a deep wet thwock.
And then the rider came up to him, and Dior saw that this rider too was naked.
Bëor: Halt! Who goes there?
Finrod: It is I, Felagund, son of Finarfin of Valinor. King of Nargothrond, builder of Minas Tirith, sovereign of all Dorthonion!
Bëor: Pull the other one!
Finrod: I am! And this is my trusty servant, Edrahil.
Idril and Meleth (my OC) welcome Finduilas, Niënor, and other refugees into Havens after the Fall of Doriath, hoping they can start anew there. Finduilas's daughter is distraught about the situation. Also, how did Finduilas and Niënor make it to the Havens after the Fall of Doriath?
And even after he and Lúthien settled in Tol Galen, where the air smelled of roses and pine and the nightingales sang merrily through the summertime, word of the outside word came in bits and pieces, often many years late.
At the lowest ebb of her fortunes, Morwen was left with only two of her former servants: Sador, who was lame in one foot, and Ragnir, who was blind.
We know she had sometimes been unsympathetic to Sador's failings, until her family changed her mind.
We need not assume she had a similar history with blind Ragnir, though.
Morwen hears from Annael that her cousin Rian has left his protection to seek death at the side of her fallen husband.
Morwen departs for Dor-lomin, with Rian and some other refugees of the House of Beor, while Emeldir and others remain in Brethil.
He heard the voice again, and turned towards it, westward, but as he did he saw the girl again, with her green dress and her yellow hair. She ran up to him on light feet, leaving no trace behind on the snow. “Are you leaving?” she cried. “Please don’t leave!”
“But I am called,” said Elurín. “Don’t you hear?”
“Yes. He calls me, too, but I cannot go!” She cried, and it was the sound on the wind and in the river. “I am afraid.”
Spellbound by Glaurung, Father of Dragons, Túrin abandons Princess Finduilas and runs on a fool’s errand. But what if she doesn't wait in vain for a rescuer that will never come, and fights back? Perhaps then Túrin can evade his doom after all.
