What possibly could make this pairing more depressing? Oh yes, a WWI AU. Their names changed to fit the context, some events unfold differently, but in the end, it's all the same.

Or, it's all the Nirnaeth, really. I'm sad that I couldn't fit Losgar into any of this or crossing the Helcaraxë, but I'm not sure how I could have!

He's a generalized War War I poet, but maybe has something of Robert Graves in him, in that all his friends die off and he's left alone with horrifying memories.

Like Tolkien himself...

It's great! I mean not only the story itself but also the idea of WWu44;...Sometimes i find it even more tragic under such...real background i think. Both Maedhros and Fingon tended to be more humanlike now and it drove me sooooooo moved by their love in such a certain period TwT
