Clasping Amarië’s hand in his own, Finrod stares up at the stars strewn across the sky above him. They were different here than what he had seen in Beleriand, tilted and out of place. Dizziness clouds his vision for a moment, his mind struggling to reconcile what it expected to see with the vision clearly before him. He closes his eyes, reminding himself this unsettledness is to be expected. But who knew what was to be expected with him? He was the first of the Exiles to return. He had spent thousands of years in another world, another life. Things are not the same here, changed from his memories, shifted like the stars above him, tilted and out of place from what they should be. Sensing his troubled thoughts, Amarië squeezes his hand softly. He was different. She was different. They were not the same people, though his mind deceived him with the similarities.

“Findaráto.” Amarië's voice cuts thought his thoughts, accompanied with another reassuring squeeze. “Finrod. I still recognize you. You’re the same person I fell in love with long ago. You have the same kind heart, the same caring soul. And though we have changed and grown, I wish to get to know you once more. I will fall in love with you over and over again. No matter how long it's been, or where you’ve gone…for as long as you are willing, you are mine.”
