I also feel with Celebrimbor and tend to struggle a bit with acceptance.

I initially considered making the point more explicitly that, closer to home, Celebrimbor's father (and also the other Feanorians) is clearly not good at all at simply cutting his losses, but felt I couldn't do it without getting too heavy-handed!
