I wanted the whole 'run-and-get-caught' dynamic to feel like an intimate game between them at this point. He was new to her—different, unfamiliar, and beyond her control. She was drawn to him, even tempted, but she wasn’t fully committed, and he knew it. The fact that ‘he loved her first and loved her deeper’ brought another layer to their connection, even though his love had a possessive edge. But eventually, the game stopped being a game when she made the choice he had feared all along—she decided to leave.
