Warning: this story utilizes my heavily unlikely headcanon that Orodreth is female and married to Fingon, therefore neatly combining the two prevailing theories of Gil-Galad's parentage.  I have no excuse, other than that I have a long history of supporting ships that come out of literally nowhere and then trying to write epics about them.  It's a sickness, and I offer every apology to Tolkien.
