Orcs: a treatise on dissection.
Tyelkormo is a faithful follower of Oromë. He knows his father would disapprove on principle alone.
This story is his point of view on the events leading to the noldor's exile.
Very biased opinion.
Tyelkormo wasn't supposed to be in his wood trying to teach unteachable baby hunters, Oromë was pretty sure.
No seriousness inside.
Murder of a harp mentionned.
Prompt Harp for Back to Middle-Earth Month 2024
Once upon a time, before the darkening of Valinor, a young hunter goes to Oromë to learn... And meet one who would be a dear companion until life, oaths and tragedy separates them.
This story is their meeting

Annael tells his fosterling Tuor about the rides of Orome in Beleriand, before the Darkening of Valinor.
Earendil comes home to Elwing's Tower in Aewellond (the Bird-haven) to rest from his labors, and finds her just beginning hers. She's been...nesting in his absence.
He hadn't counted on Elwing's bird-skinchanging affecting her like this...
The summer festival had started, and Tyelkormo spent it with the Hunters of Oromë. Every year was a bit different, but the activity that Tyelkormo enjoyed that year was a race.
I would like to share my revelations of Tolkien's Universe in the form of narrative and emotional poems.
All of my stories about the Valar and the Maiar. Most of them derived from Chasing Mirages.

Gandalf tells Bilbo Baggins of a time when he was still called Olórin.
Oromë struggles to court Vána.
""As yet no flower had bloomed nor any bird had sung, for these things waited still their time in the bosom of Yavanna; but wealth there was of her imagining, and nowhere more rich than in the midmost parts of the Earth, where the light of both the Lamps met and blended. And there upon the isle of Almaren in the Great Lake was the first dwelling of the Valar when all things were young, and new-made Green was yet a marvel in the eyes of the makers; and they were long content."
Celegorm, who was friend of Oromë, who often visited the Vala's house and learnt the language of all birds and beasts - but hunted them also. This is a story of the noontide of Valinor, of a hunting party and of the deities of bow and arrow, loyalty yet untarnished, gifts and wisdom, and what it means to understand and talk to the things you kill. Sometimes Snow White and the Huntsman are the same person.
Celegorm, Returned, faces a challenge. A double-drabble.
At the end of the War of Wrath a follower of Oromë finds a new purpose.
If Melkor could not create, but only corrupt, might dragons have their origins with Yavanna and return to her one day? An examination of the rehabilitation of dragons.
Created for Tolkien Reverse Fandom Bang 2019, for WaywardDesertKnight whose portrait of Yavanna and Ancalagon is included and inspired this work.

A story of the distant time when Orome first found the Quendi by the shores of lake Cuivienen, and of the love the Eldar have for the stars.
There were things lost on the journey to Aman, history and culture, art and songs. Such things the Eldar might never see again and yet one thing they thought lost forever still survives.
Magic.
When Finarfin begins to dig deeper into the past of his people he discovers things that shouldn't have been forgotten and unearths what the Valar would have preferred to stay forgotten. Magic is dangerous after all, it corrupts all those who use it.
Doesn't it?
Of how Huan came to be in Celegorm's care. Features a Vala without a sense of time, a puppy that does not yet know how to behave, and a curious little Elfling wanting to speak with birds and foxes.
Tolkien drabbles set in the First and Second Ages of Middle-earth. (Exactly 100 words as counted by MS Word.) Please see table of contents for individual summaries and warnings.
Melkor came to Arda to hurt it. Tulkas came to Arda to hurt Melkor. What the fighter of the Valar didn't know, is that his enemy would turn more dangerous once defeated.
