This was lovely, Alcina! It didn't end how I expected, and yet I love the ending. Of course, my immediate thought was, "omg, I want to know what happens next!" but from an artistic standpoint, I understand (and love) that it ends how it does, on the brink of hope. It was a lovely use of the image prompt too.

Dawn, thank you so much for leaving me such a sweet feedback! I'm also horribly sorry that I'm replying so late to it; it must have totally slipped my mind that it was here, as I had missed all the reviews for this story here. What a lovely surprise to discover it today - just by chance, as I was just checking something.
Back when I wrote the story, I planned to write a second part and had it drafted, and worked some at it helped along by a B2MeM prompt, I think. It's still only a draft, I fear, although with having written more Maglor by now, I might eventually finish this, too. Well, it'S no secret what a slow and often meandering writer I am, I fear! ;o)
