Just for fun and because you already know I am a heretic and defend the Noldor against the Valar. (No doubt, Tolkien would be disappointed in me.)

Daeron's answer to the unsought honor of Mightest Singer of all in 100 words:

Mightiest singer of all? I graciously accept praise without explaining my opinion. I save my argument for Manwë Súlimo alone. I do not say that my own choices were wrong. How can one judge the answer, if one did not know the question? Mighty Maglor sang for justice, for freedom, and in defense of the weak and beleaguered of Middle-earth. His magnificent voice scored his pain into my heart. His Noldolantë stands unequaled. I refuse this honor. Look to yourself, Manwë. The One will judge who were the victims and who must accept responsibility for the pointless loss of lives.
