One year after arriving in Gil-galad's camp, Elrond learns of the fates of Maedhros and Maglor.

On two occasions, Finwë was late for Fëanor's departure into the North. This story explores the complexity and evolution of the relationship between Finwë and Fëanor.

Author note: I recently did a series of 100-word drabbles about Maedhros (No Flame Burns Forever). It was a good exercise so I thought I would try a similar idea with Fëanor as the central character. I have been reluctant to utilize him as a character in my works, as I am somewhat intimidated when I think about writing him. These short glimpses into his life gave me a better sense of how I think of him in my head canon and made me more comfortable with his character in general. So here is a series of 100-word (occasionally more than 100 words!) drabbles from the point of view of Fëanor.

Written for Tolkien Secret Santa 2017, for Rogercat, who wanted a sweet moment between Celebrimbor & a female Narvi and ended up with four moments and a rather longer story than intended - sorry! :-) [thanks to Raiyana for beta-reading.]

Fishing boats dotted the bay, and in the distance Balar rose dark and solid out of the water. Gulls wheeled overhead, calling to one another, as Elwing followed Elrond and Elros to the beach.
