Glad they thought of preparing water buckets before starting the fire! -- I love how you used the melodramatic song and turned it into a story that is, on the surface, quite light-hearted - but full of dark undertones, both in its references to the Ambarussar and Elrond's past, and Elrond's doubt that the peace will last.

I hope Maglor does take the rest of her advice! And I'm sure he'll perform splendidly. Poor Maglor, I can relate to his stage fright so well - no matter how well prepared he is, and how good he actually is, these irrational fears just won't leave one alone. I like the idea that even the greatest minstrel of the Noldor would be subject to nerves and self-doubt!
